Ten student musicians from Evanston Township High School have been chosen from among students across Illinois to perform in concerts at the Illinois Music Education Conference on January 25-28. The IMEA state conference, held in Peoria, IL, will feature two concerts with band, choir, and orchestra: the All-State Concert and the Honors Concert.
Student musicians audition in the fall to perform in one of the nine district-level concerts, which were held in November. Based on their audition score, they may also be selected to participate at the state conference as well as in their district-level concert.
ETHS students chosen for the state-level concerts are orchestra students Michael Brown (violin), James Hanford (violin), Ellie Kirk (harp), and Ben Solomonow (cello); band students Kevin Fuller (string bass), Eleanor Goerss (oboe), and Daniel Mills (clarinet); jazz band student Quinn Sengupta; and choir students Annie Bennett (soprano) and Natalie Vanderlaan (alto).
