Volunteers needed to help staff information booth at Custer's Last Stand Festival this Saturday and Sunday (June 16 and 17). We are just people concerned about the wide spread use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) and the related effects of the herbisides the GMO's were created to survive.
Our purpose of having this booth is: (1) to explain to people what GMO's are (we have videos and posters) (2) to educate people on why they should care about GMO's (3) and to urge people not to simply wait for the government to do something - there are substantial things individuals can do right now.
We have done some original "field" research, including spending time with Terrance Ingram, a beekeeper in northwest Illinois who has been all over the internet regarding his research into Roundup resistant bees. But, our passion and concern is greater than our "expertise". We could use help from other concerned people to stand side by side with us at the booth and talk to people about the GMO's.
We have a news letter we will be handing out, as well as some other activities that should draw people in to discuss an issue that they might rather avoid.
If you have any interest in this topic at all and would like to spend an hour, several hours or the whole fair helping other people understand, then give me, Eric Lieberman a call at the number below or write me by email.
Thanks,
Eric Lieberman
