The Associate Board of NorthShore University HealthSystem Shows its Support at NorthShore Evanston Hospital’s Infant Special Care Unit Picnic

On Sunday, June 24, members of The Associate Board of
NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) volunteered at NorthShore Evanston Hospital’s 40th annual Henrietta Johnson Louis Infant Special Care Unit (ISCU) reunion picnic for families with children who have graduated from the neonatal unit. The picnic gives Board members and volunteers an opportunity to meet the staff of the ISCU and the families its serves. At the picnic, families enjoyed a carefree afternoon filled with games, face-painting, entertainment and story-telling. The Associate Board was able to demonstrate their commitment to the ISCU at this year’s event by presenting a check for $7,000 to further support the organization.

“We all look forward to the picnic as it offers an
opportunity for Board members to meet the staff, children and parents who we have been able to support through our fund-raising efforts,” says Stephanie Stefanik co-chair of The Associate Board of NorthShore. “Our Board works
tirelessly year round to ensure these families have the resources they need, both medically and emotionally. We are proud to have been able to further our support this year and share the news at the picnic.”

Since its inception, The Associate Board of NorthShore has raised more than $500,000 to benefit neo-natal projects at NorthShore Evanston Hospital's ISCU and Department of Pediatrics, including the new Associate Board Emergency
Family Fund
. The fund is vital in assisting families whose children require the life-saving care provided by the ISCU.

The majority of funds raised by The Associate Board of NorthShore are through its annual benefit, “Under the Harvest Moon,” which will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the House of Blues in Chicago. Tickets for the
event are $100 in advance and $125 at the door with additional sponsorship levels available.
