Evanston Open House - Unique Housing for Adults with Autism
Rimland Services NFP is excited to announce the opening of our fourteenth group home supporting adults with autism. The home is located at 1826 Foster in Evanston. Since 1970 Rimland Services NFP has pioneered successful, community-based programs that support individuals with autism as they achieve their full human potential, living in the community of their choice to the maximum extent possible. Rimland has been at the forefront in lowering walls that separate individuals with autism. Over the years, Rimland has successfully established community living options for adults with autism in Des Plaines, Evanston, Highland Park, Maywood, and Mount Prospect.
The opening of the 1826 Foster home is special because it is our second home purchased and rehabbed with Neighborhood Stabilization Funds. Also this is Rimland’s first home working with Designs for Dignity.
Designs for Dignity was initiated in the belief that human beings are entitled to, and nurtured by, living and working within creative environments. Recognizing that constrained budgets of many non-profit organizations often preclude a comfortable and supportive physical environment, Designs for Dignity transform existing non-profit spaces through Pro Bono design services and in-kind donations.
Rimland will hold a grand opening of the Foster home on June 1, 2012 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.
