Watch this video to see a clip from the ECTV show "The Reporters," where four local journalists talk about the latest news in Evanston.

That includes the opening of Chicken and Waffles in the next few weeks on Dempster Street, the crowds at the new Found Kitchen downtown and a restaurant that never materialized--Felony Frank's.

It also includes discussion of development on Howard Street, where the Ward Eight Wine Bar recently opened and a theater is under consideration, as well as discussion of 1515 Chicago Ave. The building was demolished earlier this month while the owners seek a new tenant.

Evanston Review's Bob Seidenberg moderates, with panelists Bill Smith of Evanston Now, Shawn Jones of the Evanston Roundtable and Jenny Fisher of Evanston Patch.

The show is streamed live on cable channel 6 on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and on Thursdays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. On these same days and times, it will be simultaneously streamed on the ECTV website

“The Reporters” connect the dots from the week’s stories appearing on the internet and in print in four Evanston publications and elsewhere. The reporters, while laughing and enjoying themselves, invite the viewers to penetrate into the more subtle stories behind the week’s news while enduring less pain upon contact with the truth.

Numbing televised hours of public meetings, pounds of pdf’s from the city’s website and even insightful individual stories from our publications does not suffice as the substance of enlightened dialogue for a community with an appetite like Evanston’s. Want to cut to the chase ?..... tune into “The Reporters” at the end of each week in which the Council meets. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry.
