Duo Caught With Stolen Auto in Evanston

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Attempted burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 1500 block of Madison Street on April 23. According to the report, the offender(s) removed a screen door to gain entry. It is unclear what - if anything - was taken.

Retail theft

Two bottles of alcohol were reported stolen from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street on April 19.

A bottle of alcohol was reported stolen from a store in the 1900 block of Dempster Street on April 22.

Stolen wallet

A wallet was reported stolen from the 2300 block of Oakton Street on April 14.

A wallet was reported stolen from a school locker in the 100 block of Grove Street on April 23.

Graffiti

Police observed graffiti in the 1000 block of Florence Avenue on April 23.

Officers observed graffiti at the intersection of Ridge and Mulford on April 23.

Vehicle vandalism

A car owner reported that an unknown person broke his or her vehicle window in the 1800 block of Simpson Street on April 23.

Stolen plate

A license plate was removed from a car parked in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue on April 23.

Retail theft arrest

William Champion, 19, of Evanston, was charged with retail theft on April 22. The teen was arrested in the 1900 block of Dempster Street around 8:40 p.m., police said.

Aggravated assault

Latasha Walker-Anderson, 29, of Evanston, was charged with aggravated assault on April 15. The offender was arrested in the 1500 block of Emerson Street around 11:50 p.m, police said.

 Simple assault

Terril Jenkins, 20, of Evanston, was charged with simple assault on April 22. The offender was arrested in the 1900 block of Dewey Avenue around 11:15 a.m.

Possession of stolen auto

Jaime Perez, 49, of Chicago, and Antonio Rocha, 35, also of Chicago, were charged with being in possession of a stolen auto on April 23. The duo was arrested in the 1100 block of Dodge Avenue around 2:20 p.m., police said.
