We realize summer is technically only halfway over. But store displays and the calendar remind us that it’s time to start thinking back-to-school.

So, to both relish these last few weeks of unencumbered summer and to get ready for the start of school, Patch is holding a Summer’s Last Hurrah contest. To enter, upload a photo of your family’s best summer adventure by Aug. 9 and fill out the caption to let us know what made it so memorable. To add your photo to the gallery, click on the “upload photos and videos” button above. (If your user name is different from your full name, please include your full name in the caption.)

On Aug. 10 we’ll have a random drawing from among all the submitted photos on Evanston Patch. The winner will receive the following gift cards to help you with your back-to-school shopping:

• $75 gift certificate to Lollie
• $75 gift certificate to Maya Papaya & Tony Macarony
• $75 gift certificate to the Gap/Gap Kids
• $75 gift certificate to Uncle Dan's The Great Outdoor Store

The same day, Patch editors from the seven participating North Shore sites will draw a single grand prize winner from among all the entries on all our sites. (The sites are: Evanston, Wilmette-Kenilworth, Winnetka-Glencoe, Highland Park, Deerfield, Northbrook and Glenview.) The grand prize winner will receive:

• A $500 Target gift card
• A trip for four to Great America, parking for the day and a family meal. (Valued at $250)

The fine print:

• Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.

• All entries must be received by Aug 9. at 6 p.m. Central Time.
• You may enter one time per site.
• One winner will be selected in a random drawing on each site. An additional one grand prize winner will be selected from across the seven participating sites.
• (1) Grand Prize Winner from across all seven participating Patches will receive a $500 Target gift card and a trip to four to Great America this season, parking and a family meal. Approximate retail value of Great America trip is $250.
