Evanston Police Charge ETHS Student with Sexual Assault
Police said a 14-year-old boy forced a girl to perform a sex act in an ETHS stairwell.
Evanston police charged a 14-year-old Evanston Township High School boy with criminal sexual assault after police discovered that the student forced a 15-year-old girl to perform a sex act against her will Monday in a school stairwell, police said Tuesday.
An ETHS safety officer patrolling the hall during school hours discovered the boy and girl engaged in a sex act, the police press release said. Evanston Police Juvenile Bureau detectives and ETHS staff investigated the incident further, and police said they learned that the boy had physically forced the girl into the sexual encounter, the police statement said.
The offender, whose name is not being released due to his age, was taken to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
ETHS representatives sent a notice to parents and posted a police press release on the school’s website.
Evanston Patch has reached out to both Evanston police and high school officials. Check back for updates.

Since it appears ETHS is rife with criminal activities occurring in its hallways at all times, why aren't the many guards doing their jobs at all times. Most of the time, the guards are talking to each other casually, looking at their phones, or standing as if in a stupor. I know because I subbed there and witnessed this. this is what we're paying taxes for...and more of the same lax cronyism behavior at the school.

Maybe there is a really good reason why you only subbed there a "few times". If you think safety is the problem you could not have been too good of a sub. Hopefully tax dollars are not being spent on you any longer Debirag!!

If you don't think the security staff are doing their jobs then walk around with one for a whole day and see what he/she does or has to deal with. There are times when it is quiet and then there are times when they are dealing with issues usually only police have to deal with. Don't think you know it all because you subbed there and saw some people a few times a day. Revised

I think the ETHS security people do a GREAT job. You try dealing with 3000 teenagers each day, and see how far YOU get! Teenagers: They know everything, they have attitude, etc. And mostly it IS quiet over there. There are a few sour grapes in every crowd, its not the majority of the kids.
