Evanston’s Found Named 2013 Best New Restaurant

Evanston’s Found has been named one of Chicago Magazine’s 2013 Best New Restaurants—the magazine says the American bistro “has the kind of enthusiastic menu and following that any restaurant would kill for.” 

The menu features items such as fried oyster tacos with bacon and tomatillos, chicken liver mousse with bacon marmalade and toast. 

Amy Morton, a longtime Chicago restaurateur and Evanston resident who opened the restaurant at 1631 Chicago Ave. says her vision for the space was “Gertrude Stein salon of 1920s Paris meets Jack Kerouac in my living room.” 

Chef Nicole Pederson, who has worked at Logan Square’s Lula Café and most recently at C-House in downtown Chicago, sources ingredients from local purveyors, like Nichols Farm, and relies heavily on fresh vegetables and grains in her dishes.
