Meeting Set to Discuss City's 150th Celebration

The Evanston150 foundation will meet Thursday to update residents on progress toward "ten big ideas" for the city's sesquicentennial celebration in 2013.

Community members interested in planning or volunteering for Evanston's sesquicentennial celebration in 2013 are invited to a meeting hosted by the nonprofit foundation Evanston150.

Held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Civic Center Thursday, June 7, the meeting will update residents on the progress toward "ten big ideas" Evanston150 has identified as goals for 2013 and beyond. It will also include discussion of opportunities to volunteer for the sesquicentennial celebration. The organization is seeking a team of 15 to 20 volunteers to help plan and brand events throughout the city's 150th year.
