Families lined Central Street in Evanston for the annual Fourth of July parade in 2012, despite temperatures reaching 104 degrees.
With entries from civic groups, musical performers and dancers alike, the parade capped off a morning of festivities including pie-eating contests and three-legged races.

Glad you liked the photos! I was working a booth for Patch at the Custer Street Fair, so we didn't get to snap as many pix.

A correction: the Miata roadsters pictured are entries from the Windy City Miata Club, not the Illinois Wheelmen. This is the group that took top honors in the Motor Vehicle Division and the President's Award last year. They invite you to visit their website, www.windycitymitaclub.com, to learn more about their activities.
