Bah Humbug! at Piccolo Theatre
Nov. 16 – Dec. 22, Piccolo Theatre, 600 Main St.
Piccolo Theatre revives Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol as a comedy, complete with dance numbers and three spirits that are more like the three stooges. Performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. $25 adults, $22 seniors, $15 students, $10 kids 9 and under, $65 family; buy tickets online.
Winter Arts and Crafts Expo
Nov. 17 – Dec. 19, Evanston Art Center, 2603 Sheridan Rd.
The 10th annual expo opens with a preview party Saturday night, when visitors can check out the handmade arts and crafts by more than 100 artisans, including jewelry, ceramics, fiber, metal, glass, painting and photography. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays 12 to 4 p.m. Find more info on the Evanston Art Center website.
Next Theatre Presents ‘Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter’
Opens Nov. 19, Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St.
The play follows the story of U.S. Marine Jenny Sutter, who comes home from Iraq and struggles to return to her regular life. Shows run Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. There are Saturday 4 p.m. performances Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22. Tickets for are $30 - $40 with some discounts for subscribers or students; purchase them at nexttheatre.org or by calling 847-475-1875 x2.

Bring your pet for a photo with Santa, buy homemade cookies and items from the silent auction to benefit C.A.R.E. the Evanston Animal Shelter. Entry is free.
