Unsolved 1992 Evanston Murder Case Featured on TV
The Deeondra Dawson murder case will be featured on Crime Stoppers Case Files: Chicago this Saturday at 11 p.m.
An unsolved murder case from more than 20 years ago will be featured on a Chicago television program this Saturday.
In the early morning hours of April 23, 1992, 25-year-old Deeondra Dawson was murdered in the presence of her four-year-old son at her apartment at 634 Sherman Ave., Evanston.
Investigators say someone Dawson knew stabbed and bludgeoned her to death but left the child unharmed.
The child was in the apartment with his mother’s dead body for several hours before police discovered the crime scene.
The television program, Crime Stoppers Case Files: Chicago, airs 11 p.m., Saturday, March 23, on WPWR, MY50.
The show aims to make the public aware of this cold case in hopes of finding new leads that could assist in solving the crime.
Police are asking anyone with information on this case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-535-STOP, or the Evanston Police Department Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040.

U have to start from somewhere and if the families of victims don't stay involved and push the issue of solving the crime the case is going to remain even colder.

I'm glad they picked this one - She was my first cousin and her baby boy was there while she was being murdered. I hope they start showing other cases too - many of my close friends and cousins have all been murder in Evanston with no one put to justice.
