Bright Horizons Presents A Dilema for Some Evanstonians

Well, this should certainly blow the mind of many Evanstonians!

The Patch today announced that Bright Horizons - one of the nation's largest commercial day care facilities - is opening a school right here in Evanston.

Michelle Obama has even praised Bright Horizons, saying:

"The Partnership for a Healthier America is working with private providers like Bright Horizons. That’s the nation’s second largest private child care provider, and they’re going to implement this checklist at nearly 600 child care centers across the country. So we already have commitments that are going to affect hundreds of thousands of children today. Again, that’s why we’re excited to be able to launch this."

What's the problem? Bright Horizons is one of the companies that Mitt Romney and Bain Capital helped start. (See Bright Horizons)

That's the same Bain Capital that our own Rep. Jan Schakowsky wanted to protest a couple of weeks ago. (See my earlier Blogs:  Schakowsky Bain Protest Blows The Opportunity and Jan "No Show" - But the Show Goes On

The ribbon cutting ceremony for Bright Horizon's Orrigton Facility is scheduled for September 17th. I hope they've invited the mayor, Rep. Schakowsky, Rep. Robyn Gabel (whom I will be beating in the November 6 election) to this ceremony marking the opening of this Romney enterprise. They won't know whether to celebrate or protest!

Ain't politics fun?

are you freakin kidding me---your suggesting people will or should boycott this joint because of a Romney business connection---that's so far left wing knee jerk mentality it boggles the mind---and even has Michelle O is on board???---unreal...and i guess you'll want to boycott a chick fil a too if one ever comes to Evanston----gosh only knows, we certainly cant allow business to prosper in America unless the owners have a political agenda that you approve of

Hey, John! Simmer down. Take two aspirin and try reading the blog again! I think you will see that we have no argument with each other. - Eric

It feels like you are trying to help re-elect Jan Schakowsky with your provocative comments and questions.

Leslie - you need to put on your reading glasses. Read my other blogs regarding JAN that I posted then pass judgment. Eric
