My husband is a Jew.  He and I often discuss what has led to the outrageous situation in the middle east.  The roots of this are long and deep, but Maya Wind's profound and personal understanding of the social and psychological aspects of the military society that jailed her for her unwillingness to join the military is a breath of fresh air.  For all you people who secretly roll your eyes, knowing that if you speak out about the Israeli occupation, you will be labeled a rascist...take heart.  There are strong intelligent people who are working to reach out to Americans (who fund these atrocities through their taxes...not to mention many other atrocities, of course) to help educate them about what is going on in this region.  Maya Wind is a first class intellect, with the courage to act.  Here's a brief interview, if you dare listen.
