JEWISH NEWSPAPER ENDORSES LIEBERMAN, FARKAS

The Chicago Jewish Star, the self-described "oldest and most widely circulated independent newspaper" in Chicago, has endorsed Eric Lieberman (Republican Candidate for State Rep in the 18th District) and Glenn Farkas (Republican Candidate for State Senator) in it's latest edition.

In an editorial subtitled: "Why Vote for Democrats in Illinois when this is what we get?", the Star says: "We're in a deep hole; we have a long way to go. In Illinois, Democrats have been in charge for over a decade in Springfield, and here we are doinging backflips on a highwire without a net.

"Therefore, this Tuesday, the prudent voter will vote Republican. Not necessarily for every, but by and large for Republicans, to effect a change.

"In light of our statement above on the urgent need for change in Illinois, we endorse Illinois House and Senate candidates who we hope will point us in the right direction: Eric Lieberman (R, running for House District 18); Glenn Farkas (R, running for Illinois Senate) and Laura Fine (D, House District 17)."

The current Star issue also has a detailed analysis of the candidates forum that took place on October 18 at Haven School.

Eric Lieberman and Glenn Farkas are a firm step toward fiscal sanity in our beleagered state. I enjoyed the opportunity to vote for two men who will strive to be part of the solution.

The big question is whether people will actually think about the financial condition of Illinois, what it means regarding its ability to provide services to those in need, who helped get us in this mess (Biss and Gabel are among the many actors) and whether they will vote the socially responsible way for Lieberman and Farkas. The number of non thinking voters is truly scary.

"CHA-CHING". Biss is only interested in the sound of your home being used as a Springfield Pension ATM machine. Anyone who votes for him better dig very deep in their pockets for large property tax increases AND his support for new, higher Progressive Illinois Income Tax. It is time to get this "professor" out of politics.
