Having trouble finding a job? Well, it may be time to look outside of your current job experiences according to one author. Daniel Seddiqui will read from his book “50 Jobs in 50 States: One Man's Journey of Discovery Across America” on Thursday, February 23^rd at 7 p.m. at the Evanston Public Library’s Community Meeting Room.

Inspired by over 40 failed job interviews, this unconventional career guide shares the lessons Seddiqui learned working as everything from a coal miner in West Virginia to a surfing instructor in Hawaii. Seddiqui is a 2005 USC graduate with a degree in Economics, and after having a difficult time finding a job, he came up with the idea of spending a week in each state working one job. He chose jobs that depict the culture and the economy of each state.

Seddiqui will personally share life lessons he learned along his national journey, including career tips. His biggest lesson when it comes to finding jobs: “Networking is most important.” Seddiqui learned that the people he met along the way in one job helped him get his next job.
