Vocal music ensembles at Evanston Township High School will present their Fall Choral Concert on Wednesday, November 7, at 7pm in the ETHS Auditorium. Under the baton of Director Mary Theresa Reed, the ETHS Concert Choir and the Chorale will perform a varied program including “Let the River Run,” “Fill-A Me Up,” “Hush Little Baby,” and much more.

This concert will also feature the Induction Ceremony of the 2012-13 Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter at ETHS. The international music honor society for middle/junior high and high-school students, Tri-M recognizes students for their academic and musical achievements and rewards them for their accomplishments and service activities. Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education.

While preparing for this concert since school opened, the ETHS choirs have simultaneously been working on music to perform during a December tour of sites in Washington, DC, culminating in a special concert at the White House on December 8.

Tickets for the Fall Choral Concert at $3 for adults, free to senior citizens and students, will be available in the auditorium box office the night of the concert. Evanston Township High School is a large high school in central Evanston. The school places an emphasis on excellence and values diversity along racial, religious and cultural lines. ETHS believes that a major part of a child's education is parental involvement, and encourages parents to take advantage of the school's offer of parent-teacher conferences.

The high school prepares students in a wide variety of skills with a focus on the cooperative — a community garden tended by the students offers local vegetables grown just across the street.
