ETHS presents comedy “Born Yesterday”
Evanston Township High School (ETHS), 1600 Dodge Ave, Evanston, IL | Get Directions »
$7.00
Garson Kanin’s sublime comedy “Born Yesterday” takes the stage on February 14, 15 and 16 at Evanston Township High School. This show, which premiered on Broadway in 1946, starring Judy Holliday, was adapted into a successful 1950 film, and enjoyed successful Broadway revivals in 1989 and 2011.
ETHS senior Isabella Gerasole plays Billie Dawn, the seemingly dim-witted showgirl mistress of corrupt junk dealer Harry Brock (played by Marty Leoni), who turns her “ignorance” to enlightened revenge against Brock after he hires journalist Paul Verrall (Harry Thornton) to give her a crash course in life and love. Math teacher Zach Herrmann directs the ETHS production.
Curtain each night is 7:30pm in the ETHS Upstairs Theatre. Reserved-seat tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. Call the ETHS Fine Arts Hotline at 847-424-7848 to place your order.
Located at 1600 Dodge Ave., ETHS is handicapped accessible to the Upstairs Theatre by elevator. Parking is best in the school’s rear lot; enter off of Lake or Church Streets.

More About Evanston Township High School (ETHS)
Evanston Township High School is a large high school in central Evanston. The school places an emphasis on excellence and values diversity along racial, religious and cultural lines. ETHS believes that a major part of a child's education is parental involvement, and encourages parents to take advantage of the school's offer of parent-teacher conferences.
The high school prepares students in a wide variety of skills with a focus on the cooperative — a community garden tended by the students offers local vegetables grown just across the street.
