Please join the Sephardic Congregation for a Pre-Pesach concert of solos and duets. The program will feature music from the Baroque Era to the 20th Century.
Musicians
William Herzog is a masters candidate in violin performance at Northwestern University, where he studies with Gerardo Ribiero. He also holds a bachelors degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. In addition to his performing career, he has worked as a teaching assistant for violinists at the Meadowmount School of Music and Northwestern University.
Rose Fraser is a masters candidate in clarinet at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where she studies with John Bruce Yeh. She holds a bachelors degree from Indiana University. Along with her performance studies, she is a graduate teaching assistant in music theory and an intern at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Beyond the Score program.
Yonatan Grinberg is a masters candidate in violin at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. He is a student of Vadim Gluzman. Previously, Yonatan studied at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem. He combines a varied performing career with an avid interest in teaching and learning topics in Judaism.
Andrea Grinberg is the chamber strings director at the YOURS Project, a division of the People's Music School of Chicago. She teaches string instruments, conducts, and works in sectionals and private lessons with inner-city children who would not otherwise be able to experience classical music. Andrea is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in cello performance and has also studied at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem with Zvi Plesser.

More About Sephardic Congregation
The Sephardic Congregation is located on Howard Street just west of Chicago Avenue, across the street from Gulliver's Travels. The congregation is led by Rabbi Hertzel Hillel Yitzhak. Sephardic Judaism is a branch of Judaism that was present on the Iberian Peninsula before the people's expulsion in the late 15th Century.
