Dempster Street Closed West of Edens, Starting Wednesday
Once you reach Waukegan Road (from the west) or Central Ave. (on the east), in Morton Grove, you'll be detoured up to Golf Road. Metra is working on the train crossing at Dempster.

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 2 and continuing through Oct. 10, Dempster Street will be closed off throughout much of Morton Grove. Traffic will be rerouted starting just west of Skokie, on the west side of the Edens Expressway.
Metra will be doing work on the railroad crossing on Dempster Street, according to the village of Morton Grove, and will close off the area.
Vehicle traffic, bicycles or pedestrians will be rerouted. Once traffic from the west reaches Waukegan Road, and once traffic from the east reaches Central Avenue, they will be directed north to Golf Road, a mile away.
