Evanston Police, Fire to Hold 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

Evanston police and firefighters are holding a memorial ceremony this Wednesday for those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The service starts at 7:30 a.m. at Fire Station 1, 1332 Emerson St. Fire Chief Greg Klaiber will make introductions, followed by words from Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl and Fire Chaplain David Jones. The fire department's honor guard will also perform a bell ceremony.

The ceremony is open to all, although parking will be limited.
