A Farmer Comes to Town

You have a doctor and a dentist in your hometown, to enhance your families’ health, but what about a farmer?  Meet Jody & Beth Osmund of Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm.  We have been farming since 2002, and raising drug and hormone free meat since 2006.  We deliver a monthly meat CSA to Evanston at the WineStyles on Sherman Ave.  You can get beef, pork, chicken, and eggs that taste the way they should.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between consumers and farmers.  You know where your food is coming from and how it is raised and we have a business model that lets us plan for the future.  Members buy a meat share for 3, 6, or 12 months at a time.  Each month they get a bag with 2-3 cuts of each variety (beef, pork & chicken) and a dozen eggs.

In addition to the great food, you also have the opportunity to have a relationship with the farm it comes from.  We host farm events several times each year, and invite members to visit the farm and learn more about the animals.  We also make our beautiful creek side campsite available for members who want to come out and spend a night (or more). We share recipes and news from the farm on our blog, newsletter and Facebook too, so you can keep in touch, even when you can’t make it out to Ottawa.
