Cook County Sheriff Dart Advocates Lynching!!

Wow....it seems that Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has decided to unilaterally abandon almost two hundred fifty years of jurisprudence in the United States and abrogate "due process" and the presumption of "innocent until proven guilty". Dart has come out in favor of denying a concealed carry permit to persons that have been not only convicted but merely ARRESTED for domestic violence offenses. Hence, once a person is arrested, they are assumed to be guilty of whatever they have been charged with and there would be no reason for the formality of a trial. The discussion can be found here.

By logical extension when the individuals were arrested for the carjacking with the child in the back seat, the armed robbery on Chicago Avenue, or for having a loaded stolen firearm in the car on Dodge...rather than arrest them and have them get bond and go to jail, Sheriff Dart would be just as pleased if the officers would have saved the taxpayers some money by taking the individual, placing a rope around their neck and hoisting them up into a tree or a lamp post. Can you imagine driving around the south and west sides of Evanston and seeing young African American men hanging from lamp posts and trees.

Its more extreme than even I am willing to tolerate. The idea that Sheriff Dart has no respect for due process and innocent until proven guilty is repugnant and ought be enough to start a campaign to have him removed from office.
