The City of Chicago got its ass handed to itself again today. A Federal District Court Judge ruled that the City's ban on RETAIL GUN DEALERS that are licensed Federal Firearms Dealers is UNCONSTITUTIONAL....which means that it WILL BE POSSIBLE TO BUY A FIREARM AT RETAIL IN the City of Chicago. The City of Evanston is now in real trouble....the City Code states...."
9-8-3. FIREARM DEALERS PROHIBITED.
No person, firm or corporation shall engage in the business of a dealer in firearms or handguns or ammunition in the City, including exchange, loan, rental or other transfer for consideration"well that does NOT FLY ANY MORE....WATCH CLOSELY FOR A CHALLENGE TO THE EVANSTON ORDINANCE IN FEDERAL COURT IN THE COMING WEEKS. There is no reason that a law abiding citizen in Evanston that has a FOID card should not be able to purchase a firearm in town. Imagine expanding the diversity of retail in downtown Evanston by adding a firearm dealer. It sure is nice to see the good guys win once in a while. Read more here.
