Owners of Businesses That Ban Concealed Carry Can Be Sued
There was a very good article on ABC last night about the potential for the owner of a business that decides to make their a business a "gun free zone". According to the story, if a business owner posts a no concealed carry sign, they essentially assume liability for the safety of their customers in Illinois. In a situation where a patron was robbed or shot in the owner's business where they were denied the right to defend themselves, the patron would have the right to sue the store owner for failure to protect them. You can read the full story here.
Perhaps this will give business owners reason to think twice before denying their customers the ability to protect themselves.
