Several days ago an 89 year old man, a Purple Heart Winner that served his country in WWII was brutally pummeled to death by a pair of black teenagers.......why haven't I heard President Obama, Jesse Jackson Sr., Al Sharpton screaming and setting up a march to make sure that the perpetrators of this loathsome and repulsive act of overt violence are swiftly brought to justice?
Will the NAACP stand up and scream to make sure that his civil rights were protected if they are found innocent in state court. Thankfully, Washington State does have a death penalty....we can only hope they choose to try these two as adults. There won't be a "stand your ground" argument in this case the two perpetrators killed Mr. Belton as he attempted their efforts to rob him.
Time will tell if this brutal murder is accorded the same sense of shock and outrage that was expressed over the death of Trayvon Martin. Both situations were tragic and AVOIDABLE.....one is not any more offensive than the other.
I will follow up on this one a couple of months out and let's see if the attention levels remain the same
