Where Did Your Interest In Firearms Come From?

I have received a number of comments/inquiries some pleasant, some not so pleasant with regard to where I got such an interest [or obsession as some have suggested] with firearms. Its very simple, the first part was that my father started taking me to the firing range several times a week, junior year in HS, shooting 75 rounds in each hand with a Colt 45....every week for the entire year. By the end of that year I was rather proficient. I have kept that up more or less for the last thirty five years.

The second event was the announcement that Frank Colin and the American Nazi Party were going to march in Skokie in 1977. My father, together with Sig Shore from Shore Galleries on Devon [a outstanding firearms dealer in Lincolnwood at Devon & McCormick] organized the "Skokie Freedom Committee" which was intended to "meet and greet" the Nazis if they were to successfully get a permit and attempt to march in Skokie. I very well remember the neighbors, friend's grandparents, etc with dark purple numbers tattooed on their left forearms from place like Begen Belsen, Treblinka, Auchwitz....and learned the simple phrase "never again"....which applies today just as much as it did at that point. My father left me a  Ruger 44 magnum revolver which has a logo on its grip that says "Skokie Freedom Committee", and today its a reminder that the combined efforts of Obama, Biden, Feinstein, Bloomberg and the rest of the gun grabbers are NOT going to infringe on my natural rights as expressed under the 2A without a legal fight being exhausted.
