Come up to the lab and see what's on the slab! It's The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), a screamingly funny, sinfully twisted salute to sci-fi, horror, B-movies and rock music. This weird and wonderful musical film phenomenon will make you shiver with antici...pation!

Adapted by director Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien from O’Brien’s glam and punk rock inspired UK stage musical The Rocky Horror Show, the madcap, musical mayhem begins when rain-soaked typical square American couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Oscar winner Susan Sarandon) take refuge in the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry, in his iconic gender-bending performance), a transvestite mad scientist from outer space who is about to unveil his greatest creation - and have a bit of fun with his reluctant guests! Also present is his strange butler Riff-Raff (Richard O’Brien), weird maid Magenta (Patricia Quinn), rock and roll motorcyclist Eddie (rock star Meat Loaf) and his tap-dancing groupie Columbia ("Little Nell" Campbell). The most popular cult classic of all time!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is an extraordinary phenomenon-- an enduring worldwide cult success, beginning in the USA at late-night screenings, where attendees would dress up, chant lines and comebacks in unison, pull visual gags, dance, sing and more for the audience to enjoy. The ultimate audience-participation film, this campy horror send-up is hosted here at 27 Live in downtown Evanston by Chicago TV's horror/scifi host Undead Johnny and is performed with a live cast The World of the Weird Monster Show in a unique shadowcast performance that both duplicates and parodies the action taking place onscreen for a fabulously entertaining multimedia late-night show. And you can join in the fun as well, with plenty of opportunities for the audience to dig into their participation prop bags (sold at the door, complete with instructions) and enter the wild fun! And there's even a spooktacularly amazing pre-show!  

After a popular long run of monthly sold out shows at the Wilmette Theatre in Chicagoland, The World of the Weird Monster Show Rocky Horror live show has recently upgraded their venue and moved to the beautiful, newly opened 27 Live in downtown Evanston in Chicagoland.  Debuting on July 23, 2013, this new open run engagement is guaranteed to please with an unique, intimate feel in a nightclub setting.  With its rock club vibe, complete with custom inlaid guitars on the surface of its well stocked bar, a full stage with professional sound and lighting and cabaret-style seating, 27 Live provides the perfect atmosphere for The World of the Weird Monster Show Rocky Horror live show's brand of immersive entertainment, making the audience feel a part of this exciting, sexy, fun, and interactive rock movie musical show.

The World of the Weird Monster Show is a sketch comedy/horror host television program which has been scaring laughs out of Chicagoland residents for 9 years now. Starring Undead Johnny, the World of the Weird Monster Show follows the activities of the misfits who make up the Channel 666 staff while showcasing classic (and not-so-classic) horror/sci-fi and other genre films. The World of the Weird Monster Show made its broadcast debut on Halloween Night, 2004. The program airs Friday nights at 11pm on Comcast Cable in selected areas and also online on The Monster Channel (http://www.monsterchannel.tv). And now you can see them live hosting The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 27 Live in downtown Evanston in Chicagoland every month!Undead Johnny (Chad Byers) has hosted The World of the Weird Monster Show on Chicagoland televisions since its premiere in 2004.  He can also be seen online as one of the feature hosts on the Monster Channel, the first 24/7 interactive horror channel, with classic monster movies, retro TV, trailers, original shows, and more.  Undead Johnny has been featured as a celebrity guest at many horror and genre fan conventions such as Flashback Weekend and Days of the Dead and has made appearances on WGN-TV and UPN.  He has been live hosting movies such as Friday the 13th, Shaun of the Dead, Ghostbusters and, of course, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, live in venues across the Chicagoland area for the last few years.New to downtown Evanston's scene, 27 Live is the city's newest hot spot, featuring a live events venue, bar, whiskey lounge, and restaurant fused together to create a 14,000 square foot all inclusive restaurant and nightlife location. 27 Live is located at 1012 Church Street in Evanston, just steps away from both the CTA Purple line and Metra Davis stops.
