Summer Programs

Total Memory Workout: A six-week memory enhancement program
Did you walk into the kitchen and forget what you were looking for? Did you misplace your reading glasses again? If so, you’re not alone. Forgetfulness is part of being human, but you can develop skills to enhance your memory. CJE SeniorLife will present their Total Memory Workout program on Tuesdays, June 11 to July 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Northbrook Senior Center, 3323 Walters Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program: An eight-week exercise program for people with arthritis
Developed by the Arthritis Foundation and taught by a certified facilitator from CJE SeniorLife, this eight-week series features gentle, joint-safe movements for various fitness levels. These fun-filled, low impact exercise classes can help people with arthritis increase joint flexibility and find relief from arthritis pain. Join us on Mondays, June 10 to July 29 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Glenview Senior Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Glenview, IL 60026. Registration is required. Fee of $50 for eight-week program. Weinberg Community for Senior Living Western BBQ. Weinberg Community for Senior Living invites you to a Western BBQ! Join us for a tour of Weinberg Community for Senior Living, 1551 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL 60015 on Friday, June 7 at 11:15 a.m. Tour will be followed by lunch with BBQ chicken, potato salad, three bean salad, cornbread muffins with honey-whipped butter, fruit, kabobs and our famous chocolate chip cookies. Supporting a Family Member Living with a Mental Illness. Suzanne M. Andriukaitis, Executive Director of the Alliance of the Mentally Ill, NAMI of Greater Chicago, will address questions and concerns of family members who are providing support to people with mental illness. Her discussion will highlight some of the information that NAMI provides in their Family to Family education series that is a recognized and effective tool for family members. In addition, she will provide a basic educational program on the importance of diagnosis, treatment, and medications for people with mental illness. From 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bernard Horwich Building, 3003 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, IL 60645. There is no charge for this program.
