Party With A Purpose Raises Funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research at NorthShore University HealthSystem

A dedicated group of more than 120 gathered at Londo Mondo on April 20 to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer research at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore). Partygoers enjoyed tasty bites and beverages, courtesy of Boka, Boston Beer Company, Chicago Q, Dinkel’s Bakery, Gene and Georgetti, Koi Fine Asian Cuisine and Lounge, Rose Angelis Restaurant and Shine Restaurant, while perusing a fabulous silent auction. Guests had an opportunity to further their support by participating in the “Travel Trio” live auction, conducted by TV personality Janet Davies. Three lucky bidders walked away with exotic excursions to Mexico, Nantucket and Michigan.

Hosted by Sherry Winger and Lauren and Rick Dewhirst, the event was an opportunity to honor the memory of Douglas Winger, a beloved husband, father and papa who lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer one year ago. As friends and supporters “Partied With A Purpose” they also learned more about this insidious disease from NorthShore physicians Charles Brendler, MD and Robert de Wilton Marsh, MD and the vital research that is being done to diagnose and treat this cancer. Thanks to the generous support of donors and those in attendance, Party With A Purpose raised more than $34,000 for pancreatic cancer research at NorthShore.
