EVANSTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO CELEBRATE EVANSTON'S 150th ANNIVERSARY AT CELEBRATE!EVANSTON 2013 BENEFIT Oct. 26 Party at Levy Center to Feature Anniversary Cake Design Competition

EVANSTON, IL—The Evanston Community Foundation (ECF) presents its annual benefit Celebrate!Evanston on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Levy Center, located at 300 Dodge Avenue in Evanston. This year's event offers a unique twist in honor of the City of Evanston's 150th Anniversary.  Local bakeries and restaurants will submit cake creations for a birthday cake design competition.  The evening also features a sit down dinner and entertainment by Evanston’s finest professional actors.  Proceeds from the event support the full range of grants and programs ECF provides to the community.

"26 years ago, the Evanston Community Foundation was established to support non-profit organizations whose services and programs improve the lives of our community members. The Foundation's commitment to building long-term resources means our 150 year old community's caring, resolve and creativity will be sustained for its next 150 years. That's something to celebrate!” said Celebrate! Evanston 2013 co-chair Julie Captain.

“I'm really excited about the birthday cake competition,” said ECF board member Julie Chernoff.  “We'll have eye-popping, celebratory cakes from local bakeries and restaurants like Hewn, Bistro Bordeaux, Quince, Lucky Platter, Oceanique, Foodstuffs, Tags and Bennison's competing for top honors, which will be voted on by the party guests. It should be fun... and delicious!"
