Gale Street Inn, a popular local landmark in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, will host the third installment of its “Bar Talk” series of fundraisers on Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30pm. The series features dinner, drinks, and a conversation between two of Chicago’s notable personalities, providing a fun and engaging forums to meet friends, raise funds, and increase awareness for local causes.
At the July 18 event, Gale Street will welcome Matt Spiegel, local sports radio host and front man for the band Tributosauras, and Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune music columnist and co-host of the popular WBEZ-FM show Sound Opinions. Guests will enjoy a buffet dinner including grilled salmon, jambalaya, Gale Street Inn’s famous ribs, delicious side dishes, and two adult beverages.
As a special gift to the community, 100% of each guest’s $50 entry fee will be donated to Fresh Moves, a group that provides fresh produce to “food deserts” -- areas in the city where the lack of large-scale groceries limits the availability of produce and other healthy options. Fresh Moves operates a mobile marketplace to bring healthy foods and nutritional education to these drastically underserved neighborhoods. To learn more about Fresh Moves, visit their website at http://freshmoves.org. Kot and Spiegel are generously waiving their usual appearance fees in support of Fresh Moves.
