Community Corner

Koi restaurant supports the McGaw YMCA for the month of September.

For the month of September, the McGaw YMCA has been chosen as the beneficiary of Koi’s community outreach program. Koi, the Asian fare restaurant located at 624 Davis Street in Evanston, has been running this program since December 2012. Koi chooses a different Evanston-based non-profit organization every month as the beneficiary. Donations will go towards the McGaw YMCA’s annual fund, which is used to provide program and membership scholarships and to fund many programs which could not otherwise be offered.

Koi will give 20% of all sales from Table 23, as well as 1% of all edamame sales, directly to the McGaw YMCA. Table 23 is a table set up by the front window section and decorated with a centerpiece, linens, special plates, silverware, and wine glasses, making it a special table in the restaurant that is available only by reservation.

To support McGaw and dine at Koi’s Table 23, diners must call and make a reservation specifically for table 23. The table can be reserved for a two- hour time slot for dinner or one hour for lunch. Those calling in a take-out order can also contribute by adding a dollar (or more) for the McGaw YMCA when they place their order.
