North Shore Art League 2014 Faculty/Board Exhibit Opens Thursday, Feb. 6

Be sure to mark your calendars for a special upcoming art event - - the North Shore Art League 2014 Faculty/Board Exhibit -- opening Thursday, February 6 from 6:30-8:00 pm.   The show will launch with a complimentary wine & cheese reception in the NSAL gallery space on the second floor of the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka. The exhibit will hang through Tuesday, March 11.  This is a rare chance to see the depth of talent around us -- all in one place.   You may check out quality class offerings, workshops, summer art camps and upcoming exhibits by visiting the website at www.northshoreartleague.org or contacting the NSAL office at 847-446-2870.   The NSAL is a not-for-profit organization celebrating its 90th year, dedicated to enriching the human spirit and the life of its community through art education and exhibitions.   Photo caption:  Oil on canvas 'SC Marsh' by NSAL faculty member Nina Weiss of Highland Park, will be among the featured works at the upcoming 2014 Faculty/Board Exhibit at the North Shore Art League.  Weiss earned her BFA from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, and has taught landscape painting and drawing at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, Evanston Art Center and Chicago Botanic Garden.  She also teaches landscape workshops throughout the Midwest, at Corea, Maine near Acadia National Park, and in Europe   Her artwork is held in private and corporate collections.  Her landscape paintings and drawings can be seen in two major motion pictures:  'Just Visiting' (John Hughes) and 'The Ice Harvest' (Harold Ramis) as well as on sets of episodes of the locally shot TV series 'Chicago Fire'.
