Northwestern Wildside to Host "Fitzerland" Tailgate

This football season, the Northwestern community will have access to an exciting new all-student tailgate event.

“Fitzerland” will be located just north of Ryan Field at the grass practice fields. The 170 square yard tailgate space opens four hours before kickoff and promptly closes 30 minutes before kickoff. Student groups will be permitted to drop off tailgate supplies, food, and drink, at the Isabella Street entrance to Ryan Field. Gas grills will be available for student group rental for $20 per game or $75 for the entire season. Rental deposits will be returned to student group if obligations are met.

Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Burgwell Howard expressed his excitement for “Fitzerland” to Northwestern Wildside, calling itan inclusive community event, that represents part of the fun of being at NU.” All students and student groups are welcome to participate. Northwestern Wildside President Gram Bowsher said that many major student groups are already on board. “Wildside has already began connecting with campus groups like ASG, IFC, and PHA to make Fitzerland the place to be on Game Day. We cannot wait to see hundreds of NU students up at Ryan Field having fun and getting wild in anticipation of kickoff.” All university regulations regarding alcohol are in effect. While university staff may not be present, students are asked to self-police on this issue and be safe.
