EVANSTON, IL- The Evanston Community Foundation offers Snapshot Evanston on Thursday, October 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Avenue. The program cost is $75 per person or $125 for two, and includes coffee and bagels beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lunch. The program is designed to give local residents and Evanston-based employees an in-depth, one-day orientation into the community. Online registration is now open at www.evanstonforever.org.
Snapshot Evanston is an opportunity to learn more about the Evanston community and its assets and issues. This dynamic day allows participants to meet with local leaders, delve into current issues and tour the entire city. By the end of the day, participants have a better picture of how Evanston works and its strengths and challenges as it moves to the future.
Past program participant Andrea Densham, Executive Director of the Childcare Network of Evanston, said "It was wonderful meeting other members of the community at the event. The day begins with a look back at Evanston's history with a bus tour of the city's diverse neighborhoods, highlighting major trends of yesterday and today. In addition, panels of distinguished community leaders share their expertise and knowledge about Evanston. Presenters include city government officials, school district representatives and economic development experts.
