The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals Nets More Than $250,000 at 41st Annual Gala

More than 500 business, healthcare and civic leaders from the North Shore and greater Chicagoland area gathered at Union Station on June 22 to celebrate The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals’ 41st annual Gala, “Diamonds & Dice…How Lucky Can You Get?” Guests of the Gala delighted in decadence at every turn – from the luxurious silent auction, tempting diamond raffle, and elegant décor by Joseph Leigh Designs that greeted them as they entered the space, to the enticing casino and live entertainment by “Marilyn Monroe” and The Steve Edwards Orchestra, which they enjoyed until the wee hours of the night.

The evening served as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for The DodoNA Project: DNA Prediction to Improve Neurological Health. This visionary research at NorthShore aims to predict, prevent and halt neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, ALS, brain tumors and multiple sclerosis. Mistress of Ceremonies, Jane Monzures, shared how she is watching her mother slowly succumb to a neurological disorder and how the funds raised at the Gala might not help her mom, but they will help countless generations to come.

Thanks to the leadership of the Gala’s co-chairs, Teddi Galanis and Regina Valsamis, the support of the evening’s generous sponsors – including ARAMARK, Eckenhoff Saunders Architects, Ingegrated Facilities Solutions, Jacobs Levy Equity Management, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Madison Dearborn Partners, Mayer Brown LLP, Pepper Construction Company, Robert Morris University, SPi Healthcare, Superior Air-Ground Ambulance, ING Financial, Winston & Strawn LLP, Wolters Kluwer Health and SPLASH – and the generosity of the evening’s guests, more than $250,000 was netted to support this leading edge research at NorthShore.
