EVANSTON (August 1, 2013) – Adam Goodman has assumed the position as president of the Youth Job Center’s board of directors, replacing outgoing president Karen Hunt.
Mr. Goodman was named president at the agency’s annual meeting on July 23. He has been a member of the YJC’s board of directors for four years. He has also served on the agency’s business and advisory council and, for the past year, on the YJC’s executive committee.
Mr. Goodman directs Northwestern University's Center for Leadership, where he works with students and faculty across the university who want to engage in leadership development. He is a faculty member in the McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Science.
He has also been a founding partner of the NorthStone Group, CEO of the University of Colorado's Leadership Institute and its Presidents Leadership Class, and Special Assistant to three presidents at the University of Colorado, where he earned a master's degree in management and a Ph.D. in leadership from the Graduate School of Public Affairs.
Mr. Goodman said he looks forward to taking part in the YJC’s strategic planning process, asking such questions as where does the agency wants to go and what more it can do to fulfill its mission. He has lived in Evanston for six years.
The outgoing president, Ms. Hunt, is a managing director of First Bank & Trust of Evanston. She was president of the YJC’s board of directors for three years.
The Youth Job Center of Evanston prepares youth ages 14-25 for success in the workplace through job-readiness, placement and employment support in partnership with employers.
