Evanston Deemed ‘Most Exciting Place’ in IL

It’s more exciting, even, than that big city to the south, according to a ranking by a real estate blog.

An abundance of outdoor space and activities was one of the things that set Evanston apart.

Evanston is the most exciting spot in Illinois.

So says the real estate blog Movoto, which ranked the top 10 most exciting communities in the state. Chicago came in No. 4.

The ranking looked at criteria like nightlife and live music per capita, outdoor space and activities per capita, and the percent of 18-34 year olds.

“Evanston may be a suburb of Chicago, but as our analysis showed, it is perfectly exciting on its own, thank you very much,” Movoto says.

Come to Evanston....go out on Howard St...try a craft beer and get shot to death.....go out to your car in South Evanston and have your cellphone taken at gunpoint.....try downtown for a bank robbery.......visit to Northwestern for rape and sexual assault....try the westside for visits with a vibrant community of would be rap stars..........if Evanston can't provide for proper public safety....all of the "exciting" things to do don't mean much. There is plenty of great stuff to do here.......but the crime is like a cancer it needs to be controlled. And Ms. Bimbo...notice I didn't say a word about firearms ownership or deployment by law abiding citizens since you don't approve.

Tantor- If you don't like it in Evanston move. I took off recently and now just visit. I only miss the food.

We chichi Evanstonians dont frequent those places in Evanston where one gets mugged, or one's house or apartment is burglarized, where one's car gets broken into, or a house’s front yard is vandalized, or where one gets graffiti on one's garage, listens to shooting, or occasionally gets shot. Instead, we chichi Evanstonians frequent the lake front, the beaches, the market fairs, the fine food (let us never forget the food)....the rest of the city is for the riff raff and we dont consider them or their dwelling places part of Evanston. So we don’t talk about them. For we see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. We focus on what is good, for we are good. We like it that way. And we want everyone to do the same, including our media. We are good. We feel good.

Just paid a $275 fee for first time offence using a cell phone in the car in downtown Evanston. I was towed on a street cleaning violation and paid $325 for that (you need to study the signs because they are misleading on purpose)- Evanston is what? In my opinion Evanston is anything but friendly.
