Evanston residents are taking to Facebook to comment on concealed carry in Illinois.

Illinois became the last state in the country yesterday to legalize concealed carry after the House and Senate voted to override Gov. Pat Quinn's amendatory veto of concealed carry regulations, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Area residents sounded off on the issue on Evanston Patch Facebook page:

“Fortunately Evanston is spending its time banning assault rifles instead of dealing with the actual problem,” Neal Weingarden wrote on Facebook.

“ All the violence in Chicago is being carried out using illegal firearms anyway, so who cares? This law at the very least doesn't make you any less safe,” Nick Kapche wrote.

“Something that will lead to increased violence, definitely,” Aaron Holzmueller wrote.
