Evanston to Host Food Truck Fest July 25

The third annual Food Truck Festival will be held at Brummel Park.

Calling all foodies, Evanston will host its third Food Truck Festival at Brummel Park on July 25, according to a press release.

Evanston’s first and only food truck, Hummingbird Kitchen, along with The Tamale Spaceship, Sweet Ride, Taquero Fusion,5411: Gourmet Empanadas, Babycakes Gourmet and Curried will be offering food starting at 5:30 p.m. The park is at Brummel Street and Elmwood Avenue.

“I am thrilled to be celebrating the third year of the Food Truck Festival at the Starlight Concert at Brummel Park. We have added new food trucks this year and it is always a celebration of great food and music," Evanston Alderman Ann Rainey (3rd Ward) said in a statement.

The event will also feature live music from The Congregation, a classic soul meets rock and roll eight-piece collective from Chicago, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Free Starlight Concerts are presented every summer by the City of Evanston. The 2013 series features 17 outdoor concerts at six park locations throughout the city. All performances are free to the public, and will take place from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
