Evanston's Food Truck Fest Returns Tuesday

The City of Evanston’s annual Food Truck Fest and Starlight Concert comes to Brummel Park on Tuesday, July 15 with delectable food truck delights and the music of Rhythm Rockets, a dynamic Chicago-based soul collective.

Come early and come hungry to experience the latest dining trend: Food Trucks! Starting at 5:30 p.m., community members can purchase food from Hummingbird Kitchen,The Tamale Spaceship, Sweet Ride, Taquero Fusion, 5411 Empanadas, and new for 2014: Chicago Cupcake, Grill Chasers and Pierogi Wagon.

Rhythm Rockets will be playing their brand of vintage Rhythm & Blues, with songs influenced by the sax-driven bands of the late 1940s and early 1950s. The danceable, high-energy concert will take place from7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“I am thrilled to be celebrating the fourth year of the Food Truck Festival at the Starlight Concert at Brummel Park. We have added three new food trucks this year and it is always a celebration of great food and music," said Evanston Alderman Ann Rainey (8th Ward).

Free Starlight Concerts are presented every summer by the City of Evanston. The 2014 series features 13 outdoor concerts at seven park locations throughout the city. All performances are free to the public.
