Evanston's Young Filmmakers Invited to Submit Short Films for Screening

Filmmakers age 21 and younger can submit works to be screened during the 2014 Starlight Movies in the Park series.

The following is from the City of Evanston:

The City of Evanston invites local youth ages 21 and younger to submit their locally-made, short films to be screened as opening trailers during the 2014 Starlight Movies in the Park series.

Submissions will be accepted through Friday, August 29. Valid entries must be 15 minutes or less, formatted on a DVD-R disc that can be played in the U.S., and include the name of the participant, their role(s) in the production, age, address, email and phone number.

Interested participants can drop off their submissions at the Cultural Arts Office, Room 1116, located in the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center. Local youth can also mail in their film to Starlight Movies c/o Galen Anderson, Cultural Arts Room 1116, Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201. Participants who wish to have their DVD returned must include a self-address envelope.

Selected parties will be notified when and where their film will be played closer to the premiere date.

The Starlight Movies in the Park series brings Evanston community members together on select evenings at dusk to enjoy movies such as E.T.Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone and Frozen. For the complete list of movies, visit cityofevanston.org/starlight.
