Evanston Fourth of July Street Closures, Parade Regulations

Here's everything you need to know for getting around and watching the parade on July 4.

 Street Closures:

10:00 a.m.-  Central Street from Prospect Avenue to Central Park Avenue will close. 

12:30 p.m.- Central Street will close east to Greenbay Road.

1:50 p.m.- East of Greenbay Road to Asbury Avenue will close on Central Street.

2:00 p.m.- The parade will begin.

All streets will re-open when the parade concludes.

 

Spectators’ chairs and blankets are permitted on the parkway of Central Street from July 1 to July 4, no later than 6 p.m.

No tape, rope, stakes or other material for reserving areas will be permitted, according to city ordinance.

There will be a fine of $100-500 for any violation of these terms.

Along with the parade, games and events will be held throughout the city.
