Controversial Group Pickets North Shore Jewish Centers

Skokie and Evanston Patch track Westboro Baptist Church protesters moving to synagogue, holocaust museum.

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), the group that has made headlines for protesting at military funerals, is in town.

Group members started their protests Wednesday morning a few yards away from the Israeli consulate in downtown Chicago before they headed to picket outside Jewish community sites on the North Shore. Among the targets are temples holding services to mark the start of Rosh Hashana, one of the most important Jewish holidays.

Skokie and Evanston Patch will follow the Kansas-based group as it heads to the area, bringing you the latest updates.
