Restaurateur Tony Hu is planning to open a franchise of his Lao Sze Chuan restaurant chain in Evanston, offering Szechuan favorites like dry chili chicken and hot pots.

2. New Women’s Boutique Opens in Downtown Evanston

3. Congresswoman Schakowsky Arrested at Immigration Rally

U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky participated in an immigration rally in Washington, D.C. Tuesday and because it blocked a street, she was arrested by authorities.

4. Construction Begins Soon On Homes at former Kendall College Site

Kendall Place will consist of 19 single-family homes, located on the former Kendall College site in northeast Evanston. 

5. Developers Break Ground On E2 Apartments After 7 Years

Two new apartment towers are going up at 1881 Oak Ave. and 1890 Maple Ave., with completion expected in 2015.
