Library Launches 'Get Caught Reading' Photo Contest

Snap a photo of yourself or someone else reading and you could win the library's first ever "Get Caught Reading" photo contest.

The library is asking Evanston residents to "Get Caught Reading" this fall.

Anyone who submits a photograph of themselves or someone else "caught reading" can enter the library's inaugural photo contest. Photos may be submitted from Sept. 14 - 28, and will be voted on by popular vote online from Oct. 2-9. Photographers don't have to stick to books: tablets, e-readers, magazines, audiobooks and newspapers are all fair game.

Based on the public's selection, the library will award a first place, second place and honorable mention to kids age 18 and under and to adults older than 18. Winning photos will be featured on the library's website.

Here are the library's contest rules:

1. All photos must be taken in Evanston by residents of Evanston.

2. All photos submitted to the Get Caught Reading contest may be used, without further notification, at any time, by the Evanston Public Library in marketing and informational materials including but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, social media and web-based communications.
