Meet Ragamuffin: A Rags To (Hopefully) Riches Story

C.A.R.E. kitten Ragamuffin had a rough start to life. He was rescued from the street as a tiny kitten, near death and covered in fleas. Happily, mega-amounts of love and medical care from C.A.R.E. volunteers helped Ragamuffin rebound to full vigor. Now Ragamuffin is rarin' to go and ready to meet his new forever family. 

Here's how Ragamuffin would describe himself: "Hi! I'm super cute and love, love, love to play. I have a cute pink nose with a beauty spot and pink ear tips. My favorite game is "sneaky cat" where I'll sneak up you or a toy and then pounce. I can get pretty silly. I also love cardboard and will chew and rip it up, so you'll want to have some boxes around for me to play in. When I came into the shelter I was neglected and infested with fleas, but the nice volunteers used gentle flea treatments and got rid of them. The vet says I'm all good and healthy now! Come meet me at the shelter and let me sneak up on your heart!" 

Ragamuffin's Stats

• Domestic Shorthair, 5 - 6 months old, Black and White, Neutered male
• Ragamuffin needs to be adopted with another young, playful cat or go to a home with an existing playful cat. He loves to play and will need a playmate!
• Ragamuffin would be a good family cat.
• Ragamuffin is microchipped, neutered, and has had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines.

C.A.R.E. to Meet Ragamuffin?

Please come to C.A.R.E., 2310 Oakton St., Evanston, to meet Ragamuffin and speak to an adoption counselor. Holiday adoption hours for Christmas week will be Saturday, noon-3:30 p.m., and Wed.-Thursday, 6-8 pm.

NOTE: C.A.R.E. will be closed for Christmas on Sunday 12/23 through Tuesday 12/25; and closed for New Year's on Monday 12/31 and Tuesday 1/1/13.
