Today: CommUNITY Picnic

The event runs from noon to 5 p.m.

The annual CommUNITY Picnic will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 28 in Ingraham Park, located west of the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. Admission is free. Bring the whole family for hours of entertainment, fun activities, free food and giveaways including back-to-school supplies!

Activities

NEW 3-on-3 basketball tournament, balloon art, face painting, a dunk tank, bingo, board games, Kid's Corner, Critter Crew, ceramic tiles, and Chicago Police Dept. mounted patrol.

Performances

Evanston's Got Talent! performers, Jesse White Tumblers, I Ching Quartet, IMG, Evanston Northshore Community Ensemble, Sakari, Line Dance Divas, Seth "Golden Child" Watson, Belizean/Garifuna Dance Group and Illinois State Police Demonstration (roll-over vehicle).

Giveaways & Food

 Backpacks (child must be present and attend school in District 65 or 202), school supplies, CFL lightbulbs and gift certificates.

Free food will include hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, frozen custard, snow cones, beverages, popcorn and chips.
